Saving the Whales and Our Environment

Join Us for a Free Seminar
Saturday, April 27th @ 10:30 a.m.

Location: 627 Route 1, York, Maine (in the Eldredge Building)

Our speaker – Will Jones – is a senior at Kennebunk High School and passionate about protecting our whales and at the same time, our environment.

When Will was six years old he went on his first whale watch. He had broken his arm and his mother wanted to distract him and help him to forget that he couldn’t participate in his usual activities.

It was on this whale watch that he saw his first whale only 10’ away – just sitting in the water. Will looked right into the whale’s eye, it looked right back at him and the two formed a life-long connection. From that moment Will has been passionate about informing and educating young and old about what litter does to the whales and our environment.

Will Jones

Will was named a junior intern for Blue Ocean Society for Maine Conservation in Portsmouth at just eight years old. He has been featured as a “Kid in Action” by the American Cetacean Society, and was awarded an International Eco Hero Award by ‘Action for Nature’ in San Francisco California in 2011. He has been an apprentice at the Landing School in Arundel and a volunteer with the Special Surfer Program in Kennebunk. He is also an avid surfer.

Will continues to take his message to camps, schools and libraries. Recently, he has been on a mission to stop balloon releases and educate the public about their harm to the environment.

We invite you to join in to listen to Will’s passionate message about how we all can work to save our whales and our environment.

Light refreshments will be served.

Magnificent Mosaics!

This is a re-publishing of our newsletter from January 2013 when we welcomed Mosaique Surface to our line of tile vendors

“Breathtaking” and “exquisite” are some of the words we hear in response to our line of mosaic tile at the Atlantic Design Center. We are constantly searching for cutting edge products to bring to our valued homeowners, architects and contractors here on the East Coast. This time, with the introduction of “Mosaique Surface’ we’ve outdone ourselves!

Welcome Mosaique Surface

Stone mosaics have been around for centuries. Glass mosaics, at first thought to be a fad, have been around more than ten years and still the appeal does not fade. “So what’s so special with this new line?” you might ask. It is truly indescribable…“seeing is believing”. Impossible curves, tiny circles, mixed medium in glass, stone and metal come together in the most unlikely arrangements. Check out the curvilinear pattern “Meadow” made of Vetro Glass in our contemporary kitchen vignette.

New Technology in Mosaic Tiles

By implementing water-jet technology years ago, Mosaique Surface has perfected the production of highly complex shapes that were previously impossible to achieve with traditional stone cutting tools. This new technology, placed in the hands of a visionary mosaic artist such as Louis Fiset, founder and owner of Mosaique Surface, yields extraordinary results. Louis’ exacting standards are reflected in the work of his mosaic designers, a team comprised of only 12 artisans and 24 sheet designers. Handpicked from all over the globe, they continue to honor their families’ time-honored traditions and heritage in stone.
